My beloved Sabres have lost Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. It has been a wonderful and exciting season. Throughout this series I have maintained hope that my boys would make it over the hump and into the Finals. But they were thoroughly outplayed in the first three games of this series, a large hole to climb out of. Thank you for avoiding the sweep. You played your hearts out in the last two games.
Thank you Ryan Miller for making those incredible saves all year long.
Thank you Chris Drury for making so many clutch plays to keep us in the game (please stay with us).
Thank you Tim Connolly for being an inspiration coming back from that concussion.
Thank you Max Afinogenov for keeping it exciting.
Thank you Daniel Briere for being a leader (please stay here).
Thank you Brian Campbell, Thomas Vanek, Ty Conklin, Paul Gaustad, Jochen Hecht, Dmitri Kalinin, Ales Kotalik, Toni Lydman, Adam Mair, Teppo Numminen, Nathan Paetsch, Danile Paille, Andrew Peters, Jason Pominville, Derek Roy, Jaroslav Spacek, Drew Stafford, Henrik Tallinder, Dainius Zubris, all the guys called up from Rochester, Lindy Ruff and the coaching staff.
I will hang my 2006-2007 Sabres team picture with pride.
You have made this year a great one to be a hockey fan in Buffalo. And I can't wait until we make the run for the cup again next year.
